Think everyone has to go here at least once in their life. We were there for 2 days which was a perfect amount of time to see the sights and taste the local food. Spent a day in Florence as well which was about an hour on the train from Pisa which trains running back and forward frequently. Would recommend that as well. We spent 1 1/2 days in Pisa and felt that was about enough to see everything. Took a lovely horse and carriage ride, saw the leaning tower of Pisa and ate dinner in a 100% gluten free restaurant which was amazing. Grano Libero homemade ravioli and lasagna. The Grand Duomo Hotel has an amazing view of the tower at night and is a great place to get a drink and unwind I just wish they open before 7:00. The hotel was nice but very old fashioned. Pisa is a 1 day town. Besides the tower, baptistery and the church, there is nothing interesting elsewhere. Lucca another interesting town, but the master is from far Firenze... a open air museum. For sure i must came back to visit Firenze properly.KakamoRomania - 8.0Scored 8.0

Pisa is a good centre for visiting the cities and towns around it. Florence, Lucca, Viareggio, livorno and La Spetzia are all easily reached by train. It is much less overtouristed than say Florence apart from the area around the leaning thing.

Pisa has the obvious attractions and a few less obvious. We have been a few times previously and enjoyed Bruno's Bar and the Botanical Gardens for a little peace and quite. If visiting at the weekend it is very busy but after 18.00, most of the day trippers and coach parties leave and its a much less crowded and nicer place to be. A walk around the top of the city walls also gets you away from the crowds and also give a totally different view of the main attractions.DaveUnited Kingdom

Our room was spacious and comfortable and the breakfast selection was the best we have had in Italy. Location was convenient for the station and a lovely 20 minute walk through the historic centre to the Leaning Tower and Cathedral Square. We could not fault anything. We only stayed one night but wished we were staying longer and would definitely return to the hotel if we visit Pisa again.

Staff were very friendly, though there is no reception so make sure you communicate in advance what time you are arriving, especially if at night, so you find them. Train station is also walking distance from the hotel, so this place is a great for transit. There is an excellent pizzeria right in front of the place.

I'd argue that it was the best meal of our eight-day trip to Tuscany and thoroughly recommend the food.
