Great little village with lots of delicious restaurants ad shops and galleries. Lots of fruit trees and a really cute beach (Spiaggia dello Scario). The village has a small supermarket, and has very good access to the rest of the island via the bus system, or by hiring a car or scooter at the various hire companies in the village.

We could have stayed in Malfa for at least a month!
We could have stayed in Malfa for at least a month! It was a quiet, peaceful town, with a small main street with a handful of shops, and maybe three restaurants, and more of a takeout cafe. We had excellent, leisurely meals at two of the restaurants, and really enjoyed the staff at both. We walked down to the beach one day, and loved it, but it was otherwise a lazy few days in a spectacularly beautiful place with very pleasant people. Malfa is a treasure!

Malfa is one of the main settlements on Salina.
Malfa is one of the main settlements on Salina. It's harbour is very small so it has no ferry or hydrofoil service. This gives it a different rhythm to other Aeolian villages where life revolves around the arrival of the boats.
It is quite attractive and has facilities like a bank and post office and a number of bars and restaurants as well as a few, quite up market, hotels.

Malfa is stunningly beautiful- very quiet and with great food and drink. Salina is a small volcanic island and so beautiful. The sunsets and rises are wonderful. For those who love rugged nature, walking, swimming and the beach it’s a fabulous place to stay and unwind. I stayed at the Residence Salina in a lovely room all self contained. I ate at A Quadara which was a fish restaurant and had the most fabulous pasta with pesto. I also had a quick lunch at hotel Scario on the road above the beach.

Malfa was the cutest town on the island.
Malfa was the cutest town on the island. Small but a lovely selection of restaurants, cafes, supermarket and a lovely pottery/tourist shop. Easy to walk around. Beautiful views. The local shuttle bus stops in Malfa and can take you to all other towns on the island. Recommend Ape Callesino tours - really unique way to see the island and especially Pollara at sunset which is otherwise not possible without your own transport - the island shuttle bus stops running quite early in the evening.

Malfa is a beautiful village within the island of Salina.
Malfa is a beautiful village within the island of Salina. A regular bus-service connects to other villages on the island. Nice restaurants and a beach. Watch out for jellyfish-wear a snorklel and swimming shoes. Slow pace of life and relaxed mood.
We had such a wonderful time at Hotel Ravesi. The hotel is a peaceful oasis in the centre of Malfa. There are gardens, a rooftop terrace and a heated infinity pool and all with the most incredible view out to sea and of the neighbouring islands Stromboli and Panarea. Our room, which was recently refurbished, was beautiful and serene. The staff were lovely and went above and beyond to help us have the perfect stay, helping us organise activities and giving us advise on what to do on the island. Just amazing! We will be back for sure!
This was a lovely place to stay in the beautiful, quiet village of Malfa on Salina. Quaint antique touches in the spacious room and the large sunny patio with hammock and a great view of the ocean below made us feel like we were at a summer cottage. GianFranco, the manager, was incredibly sweet and gracious. A very pleasant place to unwind and unplug, and within walking distance to the bus, several restaurants, and the small local piazza. Malfa was the perfect antidote to Taormina, which seemed a bit crowded and chichi to us.
The hotel has a charming style in the typical aeolian fashion in white. Each room has a terrace where breakfast is also served. We enjoyed our stay in Salina also thanks to the great restaurant and boat rental tips which we received from Paolo, the owner.
In the end Paolo really impressed us by going well beyond the expected and helping us out with a ferry booking which caused problems by accompanying us to the harbor and making sure we got on the boat and all worked out well.
This is a family run establishment and they take such pride in their home and work. Had a gorgeous time there and the views from anywhere in the hotel were Insanely Beautiful! The staff were excellent and always ready to offer help and advice. It was easy to travel around the island and I would definitely return again in a heart beat! Do try their dinner menu too - it was delish and an experience to have. Thanks to the wonderful team at Principe di Salina!
I like everything about this place. It’s beautiful, pristine, perfect location, warm, friendly genuine hosts. From the room, terrace and garden to the amenities ( high quality bath products and teas) you would never know that you are a few steps from the Main Street. It’s so quiet and peaceful. You feel like you’re in your own private villa in Salina. This is my visits trip to this island and this is my place from now on.
Absolutely beautiful views and extremely close to the beach. Very tranquil location - you'll need a car to get there and back comfortably, there are buses but if you plan on going around the whole island a car/scooter may be ideal. Would do well to keep in mind that only one 'restaurant' in the area and there's nowhere to buy ghings from - closest ppace to do so is Malfa, just a 10/15 minute drive.
We loved our stay at Punta Scario! It had jaw droppingly beautiful views, and it was so peaceful and comfortable. they have an incredible bar overlooking the water, a perfect place to have a drink and appetizer at sunset. they also are right next to the entrance of the beach! they were so helpful and accommodating. we would definitely stay here again!
- Lorenzo is a wonderful host and really helpful.
- The room was super clean.
- Amazing sea view from the garden.
- The place is quite and perfect to relax.
- It’s well-located, 2 mins from the bus stop and 10 mins walk from the centre of Malfa.
- The beach called “Punta Scario” is around 20 mins walk from the property and it’s a must see.
Property was well equipped with a beautiful terrace and great views. Although not part of Hotel Ravesi we were made to feel as guests of the hotel from their wonderful staff.
An added bonus was being able to get breakfast, lunch and apéritivo on their stunning terrace.
Salina and Malfa were beautiful and we loved our stay here.
+ beautiful place close to the center of nice, little Malfa
+ very clean room, quiet, sea view :-)
+ very comfortable bed
+ Italian breakfast - small and sweet :-)
+ nice, attentive and helpful host
+ I recommend to rent a scooter upon arrival to go around, I recommend "Noleggio Experience Salina"
Hotel Signum is just a lovely place to stay, it looks like a small cute village. The pool is very quiet and relaxing and has a great view of the sea. The restaurant is of course the highlight of a stay there. Our expectations were high and we were impressed by the local taste palette.
Lovely, small-ish hotel with great location in the center of charming Malfa, with views over to Panerea and Stromboli Islands. Our room was clean and comfortable. Bed and shower were quite adequate. We shared a small balcony overlooking the great infinity pool with the room next door.
Wonderful staff, very friendly and accomadating. Staff helped me arrange transportation and booked me on an unforgettable boat tour of Salina. Beautiful views from our room, a quick walk down to a lovely beach.
Really good value for a beautiful, spacious home. Giuliana was very helpful, accommodating requests and giving advice on visiting Salina. A really lovely place, perfect for a quiet getaway.
Beautiful accommodation here. There was an amazing view from the terrace, breakfast was great, close to spiaggia di scario and Malfa. Staff were great. Would recommend!
a beautiful quiet location- a little outside of Malfa. lovely rooms, high ceilings, good AC (it was very warm), beautiful views, friendly and welcoming hosts.
